Apple App Store - iOS Version

No personal information is collected or stored by the app.

The app does record your workouts, namely workout duration and calories burned. This information is stored securely on your device. This information is not collected by me (the developer) or transmitted anywhere off your device. Uninstalling the app or using "clear data" in your phone's settings removes this information.

The only information collected is system performance and analytics information required to manage the app from the technical point of view. This information does not contain any personally identifiable data.

On iOS devices the app is supported by ads. I use Google's AdMob platform which does collect advertising and performance data (see details below). This is similar to most other apps that use ads. You can turn off personalized ads to reduce the amount of tracking as explained here: Turn off personalized ads

Note also that buying a full version of the app removes ads and the related data collection.

AdMob Data Disclosure Details

To improve the performance of AdMob, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect certain information from apps, including:

  • IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of a device.
  • Non-user related crash logs, which may be used to diagnose problems and improve the SDK. Diagnostic information may also be used for advertising and analytics purposes.
  • User-associated performance data such as app launch time, hang rate, or energy usage, which may be used to evaluate user behavior, understand the effectiveness of existing product features, and plan new features. Performance data may also be used for displaying ads, including sharing with other entities that display ads.
  • A Device ID such as the device's advertising identifier or other app-bounded device identifiers, which may be used for the purpose of third-party advertising and analytics.
  • Advertising data, such as advertisements the user has seen, may be used to power analytics and advertising features.
  • Other user product interactions like app launch taps, and interaction information, like video views, may be used to improve advertising performance.

    • Microsoft Store - Windows and Xbox versions

    Workout From Home application does not collect any personal information.

    The app needs "Internet client" capability in order to send analytics and crash data. No personally identifiable data is sent, this is data required to support the application.

    On Windows, the app can gain access to your personal music collection in order to play your music during workouts, but this information is not sent over the Internet or shared with anyone. If you don’t want to use this feature, you can switch it off in settings (it is OFF by default).

    The app also has the ability to store your weight. This is used for more accurate calculation of calorie burned and is not shared in an way. If you do not want to provide your weight that is perfectly fine, the app will use a default value of 80kg.

    The app stores some history of your workouts, namely dates, calories burned and exercises completed. This information as well as settings are stored securely on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app will remove this information from your device.
